2020: A look back - and a look forward.

It's a new year - and while I'm not really one for official resolutions I do like to take this time to think back and reflect on the past year and look forward to a new one. I don't know about you, but there is something especially interesting about this year - 2020.

When I say it "20-20" - I think clear and perfect vision. Which makes me think its the perfect year to try and take a clear look at where I've been and where I am going.

So I'll start with the past year. It wasn't all easy, that's for sure. My main thought for last year was just to "lower my expectations" which I think went pretty well.

I've been the busiest I've ever been with work having the most clients so far in a year. Which is great for my business. Probably not as great for my family life, self care, or this blog. But it was also my 5-year mark for being self-employed. A milestone I mark with great pride.

For the family it meant moving into a new house. Not our forever house, but a house that is great for now. We can walk to school, we all get a little more personal space, and I am getting to unpack (slowly) all of my favorite things that have been in storage for 2 years!

There are things that have gotten easier. Both kids are at the same school. Both kids tried a ton of new stuff and enjoyed all of it - indoor soccer, swim team, skiing, riding a bike, tennis, and probably other things I'm forgetting.

We got to continue to travel and use our passports, with trips to England, Hawaii, and Joshua Tree National Park as the highlights.

I didn't do so great at blogging. Or saving money. Or self-care. All things I'm hoping to do better in 2020. (You know, with my perfect vision it should be easy, right?)

I have a short list of responsibilities that I hope to get rid of by the end of the year to take away some of the stress. And a short list of activities I'd like to add back into my life (like consistent exercise) by the end of the year as well.

But for 2020 I really just hope for more of the good stuff. There has been so much.

Happy New Year, friends!
