Thanksgiving 2.0

Back in 2009 (at the beginning of my blogging life) I did a post on adding a new twist to your Thanksgiving and shared some recipes that I had found that were unusual for Thanksgiving dinner. Since there is always new recipes out there - I thought I'd share some new finds that I am thinking of trying this year.

To start, I was thinking about a new cocktail to try for the holidays. Since I didn't get to partake last year because I was pregnant, I am so ready this year. I think we'll be trying this yummy looking Hot Spiced Drunken Apple Cider (pictured above.)

I love cranberry sauce - but the idea of adding a Pomegranate-Mint Relish to the mix is intriguing. Its two of my favorite flavors combined into one.

I am not a bread pudding fan. But when you say "Parmesan Bread Pudding with Broccoli Rabe and Pancetta" I change my mind. I'm thinking of trying this for dinner one night - but if you were looking for a hearty bread pudding for Thanksgiving this sounds perfect.

I am not a fan of green beans so maybe this Winter Greens Gratin can be a veggie side. Kale and mustard greens are two of my favorite greens too.

I've made a Pear Upside-Down Cake before - and it was a huge hit. Even my mom liked it and she isn't a big fan of pears. This seems like a good desert to go back to.

Anyone else planning an outside the box Thanksgiving and have a recipe they recommend?
