Training Time

Well, I went and did something totally outside of my comfort zone. I signed up to run a half marathon in March. The Shamrock'n Half Marathon is March 16 and a group of coworkers and I decided to sign up and train.

We'll see how this goes. I'm not a runner at all, so I am starting from zero training. I ran one mile yesterday pushing the stroller and was tired. Completing 13.1 miles seems a long way off.

Of course this day in age, there are tons of apps for running. I have the Puma Trac App on my phone which I used yesterday and it worked well. I like the website walkjogrun.net too. A coworker recommended Road ID, an app that creates and eCrumb trail of your run in case of an emergency. Which sounds like a good idea, especially if I'll be training before the sun is up. Ugh.

So wish me well on this endeavor! I'll need all the support I can get. I'll check back in when I can run a 5k. Maybe the Run to Feed the Hungry?
