Back-to-School Countdown! Friday Link Round Up 8/9

It is official. School is less than a week away - and I am about to have a Kindergartner AND a 1st Grader. I'm trying to make these last few days as fun as possible. I promised the kids a family game night tonight, we've got tickets to see The Wiz at the Music Circus on Saturday night, they have birthday parties and then three days of Buzzardball (basketball) Camp, haircuts and "meet the teacher" events.

Then Thursday is the big day! So I'm sure you've got tons to do -- but in case you have some free time -- here are my favorite links from this week.

Today is Book Lovers Day -- so I am also sharing some great new children's books in case you want new books on the shelves for the new school year.

I'm a little behind my email reading -- but this lists some cool upcoming and new spots in Sacramento to check out.

A little gender reversal for the tale of Arthur and the sword... coming to Netflix and in a new book.

If you have Alexa in your home - ask her "Alexa, quiz me on 2020 Presidential candidates." See what you know. I got 9 out of 10. Not bad!

Ah, how things change when we become the parent....

And my FAVORITE ARTICLE OF THE WEEK: Feeling burnt out, mama? You're not alone and "self-care" doesn't fix it.

Happy weekend, friends!
