Things to do: March 2019

It's March and there is much to do in Sacramento. Especially if the weather ever gets better. But even if it doesn't - lots of these are inside. Get out and enjoy our city with your kids!

Here is what is on the calendar for March:

March 1-10: The Little Mermaid - Such a great story - this musical is perfect to take your littlest mermaid fans to. It's at the Harris Center - which offers so great family-friendly programming year round.

March 2: Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration - A fun day at Fairytale Town - all about Dr. Seuss! You can hear some local personalities read your kid's favorite book too. Check out the schedule online and  PS this is free for members.

March 2: First Saturdays at the Museum: Pioneering Women in Science - We've only made it out to one of these First Saturday events at the Sierra College Natural History Museum -- but we really enjoyed it and we'd love to check out another one.

March 7: Carmichael Park Food Truck Mania - If the weather clears up - food truck events at parks are always a good choice. We haven't been out to one of these in a while, but they are always fun. And delicious.

March 9: March Moon Madness - The Aerospace Museum will be hosting a day of moon-related STEM activities including a space vacuum and astronaut training. Perfect if you've got kids interested in space exploration.

March 10: Sacramento Antique Faire - A monthly event that we haven't been to in a while. It might be raining - but put on a jacket and go anyways to check out all the goodies.

March 17: Old Sacramento St. Patrick's Day Parade - Go early if you're going with the kids so you can avoid the time period when people have had too much to drink. My kids love St. Patrick's Day and would get a kick out of a parade like this.

March 17: Vernal Pool Critter Walks - With all the rain we've gotten I am sure the Vernal Pools are crawling with critters. If you've got little ones who like exploring living things and being outside - this might be a good event for you to check out.

March 23: Celebrate Women in Aerospace - Another event at the Aerospace Museum this month. I love finding ways to show Lucille all the amazing things women can do -- and give her some great role models. This seems like just that type of event.

March 27-31: Crystal Cirque de Soleil - Taking the kids to a Cirque de Soleil performance has been on my "to-do" list for a little while -- and of course we are going to out of town when this one comes through. But if you're around Sacramento and this is your type of thing - here is your chance!

March 30: 36th Annual Sacramento Scandinavian Festival - If you can be traveling all the time -- festivals like this are the next best thing. I'd like to take the kids - since we spent a night in Copenhagen last Summer. Get them familiar with more of the Scandinavian lifestyle.

March 30: Earth Fest - A day of fun at the zoo that includes a stuff animal clinic. I love this. Oh and be sure to check out the Okapi's if you haven't yet.
