Books for Christmas! 2018 Gift Guide

I'm slightly book obsessed. And I am sure that you have someone on your list who is too. Just so I don't clog up my other gift idea lists with books - I like to do a separate one that is just for books. If you're thinking about books as gifts -- considering ordering before midnight tonight (Nov. 26) and use the promo code: NOVBOOK18 to get $5 off orders of $20+.

These are ones that have caught my eye for this year.

Gmorning, Gnight!: Little Pep Talks for Me & You - For anyone who loves Hamilton and/or Lin-Manuel Mirada --- this is worth checking out. It's a nice collection of little poems, words, tweets -- that are meant to say Good morning or Good night.

Beastie Boys Book - I can think of a handful of guys that I know that would probably like this book. Maybe even my husband.

Convenience Store Woman - At under 200 pages -- this might be a great book for someone who used to read a lot but struggles to find the time now. Like a mom. I love quick reads like this because it makes me feel accomplished. This is not a "feelgood" read, though. Many great reviews also refer to its dark and somewhat sad side.

About My Mother: True Stories of a Horse-Crazy Daughter and Her Baseball Obsessed Mother -  This book was written by the mother of Mike Rowe (the "Dirty Jobs" guy) about her mother. It's got lots of great reviews and seems like a good story for any mother/daughter readers.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle - If you know someone who has become obsessed with The Haunting of Hill House this would be a great gift for them. Written by the same author, Shirley Jackson, this book is another amazing, dark, Gothic tale. Also a short read (under 200 pages.) Best read in daylight.

My Sister the Serial Killer - I haven't read this but the reviews are amazing. It's pretty new, so it could be a good gift for an avid reader that you think might have read everything.

Opposites with Frank Lloyd Wright -  A lovely book of opposites that is also pleasing to the eye for the parents. Especially if they like architecture and design.

Magical Holiday Boxed Set: Rainbow Magic Special Edition - Lucille got the first 4 in this Fairyland series at a book fair recently and is really enjoying the stories. This is a special Christmas themed set and perfect for parents to read to pre-readers or young readers looking to start chapter books. There are more pictures than your average chapter book and they are shorter too.

Power to the Princess: 15 Favorite Fairytales Retold with Girl Power - So Amazon says this one may not get to you till after Christmas - BUT I still needed to put in on the list. Maybe you'll find it at your local bookstore. I'll be keeping an eye out for a copy for Lucille.

What books are you gifting this year?
