We are getting to the point where most of the activities we are planning in advance are probably going to be inside - but luckily, there is still so much to do in the Sacramento area! Here is my round up of events for November!
Nov. 5: Member Appreciation Mornings - If you are a member at the Sacramento Zoo - they go to winter hours as of Nov. 1 but you can still get in 9am if you're a member every Saturday in November. Plus free train rides and more!
Nov 5-6: Discover the Dinosaurs: Unleashed! - Gus would freak out - and not in a good way. He already has a crazy imagination and talks about monsters all the time. Maybe when he's 3 something like this would be doable. If you've got a little one who wouldn't be scared and in your arms the whole time .... this sounds fun.
Nov 6.: Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia - A performence of Goodnight, Moon and The Runaway Bunny for kids 2 and up at the Mondavi Center. I can't wait to take Lucille to this. I've heard great things about Mermaid Theatre.
Nov. 12: Sleeping Beauty at Sacramento City Theatre - This is in their Storytime Theatre, aimed at little little kids. 2 and under are free. Everyone else is $5. It started Oct. 29 and runs through Nov 20 on the weekends. Check it out!
Nov. 13: Yoga Zoo - Lucille loves yoga. Especially when you can explain a pose with an animal example. (I even did a post on it a while back.) I really wish we could go to this event at the Sacramento Children's Museum. It's free if you bring a children's book donation too.
Nov. 18: Friday Flicks: Finding Dory - For any Roseville folks - this is a chance to check out one of the summer's biggest kid movies. Of course, it is weather permitting.
Nov. 18-20: Mountain Mandarin Festival - If your kids are like mine - they love mandarins. And we grow them so close by - that this festival up in Auburn is really worth checking out. I love foodie festivals and we are so lucky to have some pretty cool ones in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding areas.
Nov. 19: Candlelight Tours at Sutter Fort - If you've got older kids especially in 4th grade (I think that's when they cover California history...) this would be a fun event. It's a different view of a pretty historical place that would be fun. They say 8+ for the little ones.
Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Feast for the Animals - This is a fun event up at Folsom zoo for Thanksgiving if you're looking to get the kids out of the house for a bit. When the animals are getting treats they always come out and play for a bit too.
Nov. 25: Nationwide Free Admission Day & Canned Food Drive - Fairytale town for free seems like a better option than Black Friday to me. Grab the kiddos and let them run off all that turkey!
Anything exciting on your calendar this month?
