Minimalism

Maybe it's the New Year, maybe it's my goal of selling our house this year, maybe it's just the life of a mom. But omg, all the clutter in my life.

All the clothes, all the toys, all the books, all the things.

I've been donating and selling and just getting rid of all the extra stuff that I can. And then a friend of mine told me about The Minimalists documentary on Netflix. I watched it and it was so interesting. I mean - I'm not going to any extremes - but man we really can all do with less.

One thing that totally got me thinking was Project 333. Dress with 33 items or less for 3 months. I mean how much do I need? How much of my wardrobe is stuff I don't really like? What if I only purchased things I really loved and needed to own. It's interesting. I'm tempted to try it.

But one thing I thought about right away - was all the fancy dresses. I mean stuff you wear once. Maybe twice. Baptisms, weddings, fancy parties... I used to always use Rent the Runway - to rent fancy dresses. I mean, I rented my wedding party dress from Rent the Runway.

So, I'm totally getting back into that habit. I get it a try recently for a Baptism - and even got a free upgrade dress (they let you pick upgrade dresses at check out - that they might send you as well if they are still available for your date.)

It was so nice to get to wear something new and not pay a fortune for it. And I think it totally fits with this minimalism thing, don't you? If you haven't tried it yet - use this link for 20% off your first order.

Thanks to my friend and amazing photographer Sandra Kordazakis for the picture of me in the dress!
