Books for Your TBR List for Fall

 I like to think of fall as the time of year where I read more. I don't necessarily think that is true - but I do get a little reading inspiration this time of year. The cozy, laying around vibes start popping up.

Of course it's hard to write this and talk about fall and cozy reading time when it's still in the 90's in Sacramento. But, so is the life of a Californian.

This year I thought I'd share some of the books coming out this fall that I'm looking forward to. Not just for grown ups but some kid recommendations too.

Amazon has a great pre-order price guarantee - so if you order the book and the price drops before release at any point after you've placed the order - you get the lowest price. {I'm slowly trying to give up Amazon for everything -- but this is a hard one. I love pre-ordering so I don't forget what new books I want.}

Abe Lincoln's Hat - My kids love books about real people and this one is a step up from the normal picture books. More words and details for the kids to absorb as they grow out of some of the other biography type picture books we have.

The Most Important Comic Book on Earth - This I want for the whole family. And maybe a few other copies as gifts for people. Combining two things that my kids like - comics and conservation. I of course want to read through it too.

Curious World of Dandy-Lion - This book just sounded like something Lucille might enjoy. I don't know much about it or the author. I'm not even sure how I stumbled on it. But it sounds intriguing.

A Raven Named Grip: How a Bird Inspired Two Famous Writers, Charles Dickens and Edgar Allan Poe - That's a pretty long title for a kids book - but I'm still going to give this one a shot. Again, my kids really like biography type books and I think they'd really get into to this one. Plus it gives a good opportunity to introduce them to Dickens and Poe.

Spectacular Spreads: 50 Amazing Food Spreads for Any Occasion - I just love making food for company. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea -- but this book looks lovely. And I want to have every single one of the occasions in the book. Even if they are just with my own family.

The Lincoln Highway - I really enjoyed Rule of Civility by the same author - so I am looking forward to this book.

The Every - My husband is a big Dave Eggers fan - so this might be one I get for him to read. But based on the summary I think I might enjoy it as well.

State of Terror - I LOVE Louise Penny books - but add Hilary Rodham Clinton to that mix? I'm 100% sold.

The Neighbor's Secret - I couldn't put together a TBR list for fall without including a psychological fiction book. And this one sounds like just the book. Recommended for fans of Big Little Lies - I'm excited to check this one out.

The Island of Missing Trees - The Greek in me had to pick this one. It takes place in Cyprus - on the long standing feud between Greeks and Turks. I can't wait for this one to arrive so I can read it.

What are new books are you excited for? Share them in the comments.

{I’m probably linking this post up at one of the awesome link parties that are hosted by some amazing blogs. Check them out!

  1. Wow! Thank you for including Curious World of Dandy-Lion on your list to read. I don't know where you heard of it from either, but I am so grateful! I hope Lucille enjoys the read. -Lorraine Hawley
