Christmas Wish Lists 2020: For the Reader

A Christmas gift idea list - for the reader you know no matter their age. 2020 did a strange thing to my reading. I pretty much stopped reading at the beginning of the pandemic. It took me a long time and a new zoom book club to get even remotely back into it. But I'm trying. I know many people who have been reading non-stop like my daughter who reads any book insight at this point. It was an expensive habit to uphold when the libraries were shut down.

Anyways, on to a list of books that you might know the perfect owner for.

Madame Badobedah (rhymes with "oh la la) comes from Sophie Dahl (daughter of my favorite children's author Roald Dahl). And while my kids are quickly growing out of the picture book phase (hold me while I cry) I had to get this one anyways. If you've got a young one with a big imagination I would recommend this book.

A Promised Land For any of your friends that might have felt anxiety and depression over the last 4 years of our countries leadership - this is the go-to book right now. I personally can't wait to read it. I've heard wonderful things from my friends who are quicker readers than I am.

The Ickabog is the new J.K. Rowling book and would prove a good pick for any fan of hers (young and old) or just a fan of a good fantasy fairy tale. Another new book I can't wait to dive into.

HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style is the perfect book for anyone obsessed with "The Crown" right now.

Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee I am a big fan of Harper Lee and after reading "I'll be Gone in the Dark" last year, I was reminded I am also a huge fan of true crime. This book is both of those in one.

World of Wonders This books just looks inthralling. I grew up in a family that loved natural history - and learning all about the world around us. I think my kids are the same way. A book like this would be one that my parents would read, I would read, probably Lucille would read too.

Bookroo is a monthly book club for kids and they have board books, picture books and chapter books. I tried it out back when the kids were little and loved it -- and I'm thinking it might be a good gift for Lucille now with the chapter books. She reads so many books I can't keep up! If they don't have another offer going - try BOOKS2LOVE for 15% off.
