Doing Something You've Always Wanted to Do

I read a quote somewhere recently that said "If you could do anything in the world and KNEW you wouldn't fail, what would it be? Figure that out and then do that thing."

Man, there is SO much I would do if I knew I couldn't fail. One of the top things? Write a novel. I've always wanted to be a writer. I know that I get to write every day for clients and for this blog - but I mean a really good fiction writer. The kind of book that just grabs you and leaves you wanting more. One of the things I've thought about is writing historical fiction based on all the interesting stuff I've found while researching my family history. But I'm just not quite ready for that.

Well, this November I've decided to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) -- and spend a little time writing every day. I'm going to take a little help from these great writing prompts and spend some time writing for a story that is in my head a little but needs more flushing out.

A long time ago I participated in some NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month) writing that challenged me to write something here every month. This time around I might be writing a little less here and a little more in my creative writing journal.

Wish me luck on this journey! Is there something you would do if you knew you couldn't fail? What is it and why aren't you trying to do it? I'm sending encouraging creative vibes to everyone this month!
