Can you believe that it is September? I can. It has been one long Summer. We went to Greece, I was busier working than I intended AND my kids weren't in full-time school anymore. In fact, I am still a few days short of both kids being in school and mom being back to something of a schedule.
Anyways, I did manage to find the time to put together a list of things to do with the whole family during the month of September. Here is what is happening in and around Sacramento.
Sept 1 - The Beers and the Bees: An event at Track 7 Brewery to kick-off Farm-2-Fork month in Sacramento. Talk bees and beers and how the to mash together. Bring the kids to color and see a real working beehive. A win-win event for the whole family.
Sept 1-3 - Chalk It Up: A great Labor Day weekend event for the whole family -- Chalk it Up at Fremont Park has some amazing art that you can watch come to life. This year, two of my work clients (California Rice Commission and The City of Sacramento Department of Utilities) are going to have squares! I'm really looking forward to seeing them.
Sept 7 - Friends of the Library Book Sale @ Arden-Dimick: I grew up loving library book sales and I still do. I'm pretty sure that my mom and I will go with the kiddos and explore all they have to offer at this one.
Sept 8 - Anansi's Web Opening Celebration: Fairytale Town is getting a new playset. The first in 21 years! My kids are so excited for this... and have been watching the construction all summer long.
Sept 13 - Gather Oak Park: I can't believe we haven't made it out to Gather once this year. We've had fun at this event in the past but I'm not sure if we will make it this month either. If you haven't been yet - it is worth checking out!
Sept 15 - KVIE KidsFest: If your kids love PBS characters (like Daniel Tiger or Word Girl) it might be worth checking out this event at Cal Expo. There will be loads for the kids to do and characters to take pictures with. And at $15 it is LOADS cheaper than Disneyland. haha.
Sept 21 - California Capital Airshow: Often we can see some of the plans from my parent's house -- but I'm starting to think that the kids (well, especially Gus) might be at a point where he would really, really like to see this up close.
Sept 28 - Farm-to-Fork Festival: A fun way to see all that is grown locally in the Sacramento area and show your kids so farm equipment and try some local food.
Anything I missed? Share it in the comments - I'd love to know about it!
