Things to Do: June 2018

Another month has come and gone. It's June - which means Summer really starts, my birthday happens and Father's Day - just to name a few of the exciting things going on. If your schedule isn't already packed - here are some fun family-friendly things you can do in and around Sacramento this month.

June 1: Movie in the Park - Jumanji - We love Movie in the Park night at Arden Park. While our kids are probably a little too young for this movie - it is a fun one. If your kids are older or know the story these movies in the park are always fun.

June 2: National Trails Day - Head over to Effie Yeaw Nature Center and join a hike along one of their amazingly fun and easy trails. These are perfect for little kids - we are out there whenever we have a chance. If you want more trail suggestions for kids - check out my post from yesterday.

June 9: The Curiosity Cube - This shipping container turned mobile science lab is coming to the Powerhouse Science Center and is totally worth checking out! It travels all over - and it seems like Sacramento is it's only planned stop in Northern California.

June 13: 2018 Prairie City Race Series - This is the last chance to bring your kids out to Prairie City for their race series. They have an all ages race at 5:30 p.m. before the real races for kids of all ages. Gus and Lucille took their Strider bikes out last year and loved it. We missed the first two this year -- and hopefully can make either June 6 or June 13 this year.

June 16: Cupcake Ball - A fun opportunity for daddies and daughters - Sacramento Children's Museum host this fun dance. Members get a discount on tickets.

June 21-24: Placer County Fair - County Fairs are great places to take kids - especially if you've got "city kids" like me who love animals. It gives them great exposure and of course, the kids love the rides and junk food. Win, win.

June 23: International SUN-day - Another fun weekend at the Powerhouse Science Center. Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society will be on-site with their solar telescopes and they will have a sun theme planetarium show for the 4 and older crowd.

June 23: Music in the Park - Frankie and the Defenders - We haven't tried a music in the park night - but it might be worth checking out. We could probably just let the kids play on the playground and listen to the music from there. Sounds almost like a date.

If I missed anything - please share in the comments!
