I was lucky enough to get a tin of the cookies sent to me so we could try some of the recipes. The first one I wanted to try was the Cookie Frappe. The recipes are from different hotels throughout the world (there is even a local one from the DoubleTree in Rancho Cordova!) This recipe below is from a DoubleTree in Boston.
DoubleTree Cookie Frappe
Ingredients
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup whole milk
1/2 DoubleTree cookie, crumbled
2 Tbsp chocolate syrup
Whipped cream
chocolate "jimmies" (sprinkles)
1 strawberry or piece of pineapple
Preparation
Combine vanilla ice cream, milk, chocolate syrup and cookie crumble in a blender. Blend until smooth. (You'll want the cookie crumbles to fit through a straw.)
Pour into a tall glass.
Finish with whipped cream and chocolate jimmies.
Garnish with fruit.
*I poured a shot of coffee over mine to make it a little more "frappe" like. But the kids liked it just how it was.
I'm looking forward to trying a few more recipes from the cookbook too. If the cookies don't all get eaten first. If you're interested go download the cookbook! It's free.
{I’m probably linking this post up at one of the awesome link parties that are hosted by some amazing blogs. Check them out!}
