My year in Books, Music and more...

What was your 2016 all about? I thought I'd share some of the great books, music, movies and TV that made up my year. I'm trying hard to get back into reading - but the time is just not available to me. I'm finding more of it though and ended the year on a good note reading about 6 books in 2 months!

I started off right - reading Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson. This book made me laugh (no, snort) out loud and it got me back into reading adult books. I can't recommend it more. Especially if you ever feel like you deal with depression or anxiety. It is a great book.

I read The Underground Railroad - and while it took me a while to get through, I really appreciated the writing. It put a lot of much-needed texture into the knowledge of slave / underground railroad history that I had.

Oh, my the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children series. I just loved it all. If you haven't read them yet - I recommend it.

Music wise, we started the year with Houndsmouth ruling our car and it still gets played anytime I want the kids to fall asleep in the car. They love it and we love it. The kids can sing the first 2 tracks.

I became OBSESSED with Hamilton the Musical so I listened to that a lot.

Joseph. The best thing I discovered in 2016. For sure.

The movie Bad Mom.

Because of Hamilton, I started watching Turn: Washington's Spies on AMC.

I canceled my Netflix and then renewed it in November. All because of Gilmore Girls and The Crown.

What did you find and love this year? I'd love to hear in the comments!

{I’m probably linking this post up at one of the awesome link parties that are hosted by some amazing blogs. Check them out!}
