Local Holiday Gift Guide: big people

Want to think local for your gift giving this year? I've got some unique, Northern California ideas for you.

Timber and Main - Beautiful wood products - made right here is Sacramento. If you've got a kitchen guru on your list and are looking to buy local to Northern California - you have to check out their stuff. My favorite thing? The French Rolling Dowel. But all those cutting boards are to die for too.

Driftwoods Clothing - Know someone who's a Sacramento neighborhood snob? No matter what 'hood - Land Park, East Sac, Midtown... they are all represented (plus a few more.) My favorite is the East Sac canvas bag. If they had Arden Park - I'd get it for my folks.

Art of the Garden - Got a gardener on your list? The beautiful MBrace designs make it super easy to assemble a raised garden - and they are made right nearby in Woodland. But they also have plant markers and other metal gifts if you're looking for something smaller.

Benjamins  - Shoes. Made right here. If you've got a fashion lover on your list - check these out. Limited edition - handmade - local. Does it get better? The Runner - Salt Marsh are my personal favorite.

Brown Pigeon - These handcrafted rubber stamps are so neat. The custom house one is by far my favorite. (If you like learning crafty stuff - she does classes too!)

Asha Urban Baths - I'm all about gifting experiences - because let's be honest - we all have too much stuff. This new bathhouse concept from Asha Yoga founder Cori Martinez would be a great gift for someone that needs a break. The bathhouse + yoga personal day of retreat sounds amazing.

NevMade - The hand-painted plates she does are my favorite. A great place to find locally made goods are at craft fairs and holiday markets - and NevMade is at a lot around town. But you can also order via Etsy - like this beautiful Geometric design.

Food Products - So much is made around Northern California food-wise, that this section could go on forever. My favorites? Maisie Jane's Cashew Butter,  Lundberg Farms Rice Cakes with Chocolate,  some fancy wafers from Sacramento Cookie Factory and your favorite local wine or beer.
