Thoughts for the New Year

This year is going to be all about Family. A few things I have learned or at least recognized in 2015: The times I am most happy are when it is my husband and the littles and we aren't doing anything spectacular. Also, I love providing my kids new experiences and visiting new places. I'm hoping to use those lessons as a road map for 2016.

I want it to be filled with moments - little and big for my family.

I also have discovered that I am the best person for my family when I have taken some time for myself. This can be hard - because I'm busy trying to balance my working for home and spend plenty of time with the kids so taking time that isn't work to rejuvenate is hard for me.

But I'm working on it. I'm going to try and get back into reading books. I haven't been much of a reader the last few years and I miss it.  I've also started listening to the podcast Serial - which I have heard great things about.

These aren't resolutions - they are just hopes for the new year. Ways I think I could make it better. 2015 was amazing. 2016 will be amazing as well - I can just feel it.

I also decided to ask Lucille some questions on NYE and then hopefully - I can ask her (and maybe Gus next year) the same questions every year. Here are my Q&A with her this year:

Lucille

If you could change your name - what would you change it to? I want my name to be the same.
What is something Mommy says? I don't know
What is something Daddy says? I don't know
What do you want to be when you grow up? A giraffe.
What are you going to do different this year? I don't know
Who are your friends? Vivi
What is your wish for the new year? I don't know
If I gave you $100 what would you do with it? Put it in something.
What are you most afraid of? Nothing.

A few notes: We had no idea she was so obsessed with giraffes. I tried to get her to name more friends - but she just wanted to say one. And I am so happy that she isn't afraid of anything. :)

Hope your 2016 is starting off right.
Cheers!
