Sacramento This Weekend: Oct 2

Its weekend time AGAIN! yay! Looking for more to do? You've come to the right place. There is plenty happening in the area... I've just picked a handful of my favorites for this weekend.

Nature Fest 2015 - We love Effie Yeaw Nature Center - but you already know that if you've read me before. So its not a surprise I am recommending their Nature Fest event this weekend. The Nature Fest is on Sunday and free for kids under $12. Lots of fun things to do and see and of course your kids can run off some energy on the trails.

R Street Block Party - I am just LOVING all these community events around town - especially in some of the more recently revitalized parts of Sacramento. If you were looking for a reason to check out the WAL Public Market - here it is. They had me at "kid zone."

Hoes Down Harvest Festival - Its so nice to welcome fall - and harvest season. This festival out at Full Belly Farms might be the perfect way to celebrate the new month. The festival might seem a little bit on the pricey end ($25 at the gate for adults, $5 for kids 2-12 and under 2 are free) but I've heard wonderful things about the event. Live music on 2 stages, an amazing Children's Area, great food and, oh, you can camp in their orchard.

California Capital Airshow - If your kids are into planes, this might be the best plan this weekend. Gus points up in the air, every time he hears a plane and I think he'd love it. I don't know that he can hold still long enough to watch much - but kids under 6 are free anyways so not a big loss if we had to leave early. Kids 6-12 are $10 and adults are $20.

Movie in the Park: Planes Fire & Rescue - This movie in the park is in the neighborhood I grew up in, Arden Park. The showing is tonight and is sponsored by one of our FAVORITE restaurants, Dukes.

Well those are my picks for the weekend. If you still have this Thursday open - I hope to see you at Gather (more on that coming in its own post.)
