Around Town: Halloween Edition

If you've been looking for something fun to do in Sacramento around Halloween with the kiddos, like I have, you'll know the choices are plentiful. If you haven't started checking out events yet - I'll make it easy and share a few of the events that I've found.

Boo at the Zoo is probably the most well known, and it will probably be the most crowded. Member price is $8 and non-member is $10. Children 1 and under are free. This event is two nights (Oct. 30 and 31.)

Crocker Art Museum has their Wee Halloween event the Wednesday before Halloween (Oct. 29) from 10am to 1pm. You have to register in advance and its $10 for members and $15 for non-members. These events fill up so pre-registration is required. As of me writing this - the 10 a.m. group was already full.

Fairytale Town also has a Safe & Super event that they have done for ages. This event is Oct. 24-26. Advance tickets are $7 for members and $10 for non-members.

You can take the Pumpkin Train from West Sacramento to Uncle Ray's Pumpkin Patch in Yolo County starting Oct. 18. This is a bit more expensive...  $37 for adults and $30 for kids. It includes a pumpkin and is about a 3 hour trip.

On Oct. 24 and 25 - Sutter's Fort gets haunted. For $8 for adults and $6 for kids you can meet the spirits of some of the settlers in the area. This would be fun for school age kids, especially those learning about California history. (4th grade, I think?)
