Around Town: September 29

The Effie Yeaw Nature Center at Ancil Hoffman Park is one of my favorite places. Next weekend they are doing their 3rd Annual Nature Fest allowing kids to see animals up close and personal while learning more about what lives along the American River. If you've never been out to Effie Yeaw, I really suggest going. You are almost guaranteed some upclose looks at deer and turkeys - and the trails are well maintained and easy to walk.

For my beer loving readers - check out the Ales on the Rails an excursion train ride that will feature beers from Track 7 brewery on Oct. 5. Tickets are $40 or $35 for Train Museum members. This includes beers, appetizers and a commemorative glass. If we didn't have plans already that night - I would have thought about doing this as a date night.

I'm not sure how many golf lovers read this blog, my guess is zero... but just in case I'd encourage you to put a team together for the Fairytale Town Classic at Teal Bend.  Good cause and a good course to play on.

Ok, enjoy your week everyone!
