T.V. Bingo Games

If you're going to have a group of people together to watch something on T.V. - what better way to make it interesting and interactive then to throw a little game of bingo in the mix. It's always common with the award shows (Oscars, Golden Globes, etc.)

One time while visiting my sister's family in Portland, my nephew wanted to do a Star Trek marathon -- so we created our own bingo cards to play while watching. But now on to the point for this weekend. Tomorrow presents two opportunities for playing bingo while watching T.V.

The first, of course, is the Super Bowl. All it takes is a quick google of "Super Bowl Bingo" to get a wide array of choices - from the standard printout kind to the more techy option or this one that the Modesto Bee shared. Anyways, its a way to engage those less likely to care about football at your Super Bowl party.

The second (and most ingenious) is Downton Abbey. Paste Magazine has come up with some bingo cards for one of the most watched shows on Sunday nights. I'm waiting for the 3rd season to come out on Hulu - so I'll have to save these cards for then. With squares like "Mary crys" and "Edith gets jealous" there is bound to be a winner fairly quick.

P.S. I love this pictures from the National Archives of bingo being played aboard Amtrak's Southwest Limited back in the 70's.

  1. Tell me who wins! No tv bingo for us this time--we're going sledding/snowshoeing.
