I always like going to hear authors speak on books that I've read - so if you've read The Paris Wife by Paula McLain - you might want to check out her speaking at the Central Library on Thursday, Feb. 7.
For an early Valentine's Day treat - you could head to Deaver Vineyards Passion for Ports on Feb. 9. Might be less crowded then the next weekend when most Valentine's events are happening (more on some of those next week!) Deaver Vineyards is always one of my favorite to go to when I go wine tasting in Amador County.Another early V-day wine event is the Sweets for your Sweetie event at Boeger Vineyards in Placerville. Watching the animals at the zoo open their Christmas presents was adorable - and they'll be doing a similar event for Valentine's Day. I Heart Sacramento Zoo is happening Feb. 10 and seems like something fun to take the kids to.
If you're into musicals - check out Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento's presentation of Into the Woods. This is one of my favorite musicals. $20 general admission isn't bad either. Its playing at the 24th Street Theatre thru Feb. 17.
Oh and if your honey likes Chocolate - head over to Ginger Elizabeth's and order her Chocolate Lime Entrement Cake. It looks absolutely delish.
