Around Town: July 15

Any of my readers out there fellow Girl Scouts? Well, The California Museum has a Girl Scouts Exhibit up through September 30. If you are/were a Girl Scout and wear part of your uniform you can get $2 off admission! How fun... I wonder if I can find my sash.

I have to share the exhibit/community science project they are working on at the Explorit in Davis - in honor of my dad. He is working on a field guide for Spiders of California for UC Berkeley Press - and the project is called "Spiders in Your World." If you're in Davis or heading out for a day trip - check out the whole Explorit Center. $5 a person. (P.S. in case you didn't know my dad has also done field guides on Dragonflies and Damselflies of California and Field Guide to Butterflies of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento Valley Regions.)

There is always fun things to do at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center - like the Art Studio on Sunday July 22. They'll have different wildlife mounts and are encouraging budding artists of all ages to come and sketch away.

P.S. The State Fair started and will run through July 29 - so there is  fried food to be had and farm animals to be seen.

Hope you all have a good week!
