Around Town: May 20!

How can you not want to help out these two little faces? Well, if you work downtown near the Capitol you can on May 23. It's Happy Tails annual bake sale! The bake sale will be near the North steps (near 11th and L) from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I'm going to be baking something myself to donate to the cause - so be sure to partake.

If you are looking for a good dinner on Wednesday - check out the Winemaker's Dinner at Vanilla Bean Bistro - "A Taste of Portugal." It looks like a lovely 5-course dinner at $49.50 a person.

On Saturday May 26, the Sacramento Philharmonic’s Woodwind Ensemble presents Educational Concerts CARNIVAL of the ANIMALS – By Camille Saint-Saëns at the Sacramento Children's Festival. The performance is at 1 p.m. and is free with admission.

Looking for something to do out of town for Memorial Day? How about heading down to Yosemite for the Sierra Nevada Beer Fest at Tenaya Lodge? Friday is $55 and Saturday is $85 and they have package deals too. Sounds like fun to me.

Have a good week!
