I love my Kindle.

I'm only five days in and I already love my kindle enough to blog about it. It is totally easier to read in bed - which was one of the reasons I got it - but there is an added benefit that I wasn't as aware of. The wireless allows you to search the Web and view most Web sites - at least as well as a phone does. We even were able to see High Heels and Honeybees on my kindle!

The extra cool thing about this - is I can find recipes and bookmark them - and almost use it like an electronic cookbook as well!

A lot of old classics are available for free so its also a great way to read some of the classics you may not have read before - without having to purchase the book.

Now, understand - I love holding a real book. And there is no way that this will prevent me from purchasing books. But - when there is something I want to read that I don't want to buy - I know have a way of doing that. And if I really really like a book I read on the kindle? I can always buy a real copy to add to my library.

Anyways, My real question is - Am I a traitor?

  1. No I don't think so. I don't think real books can ever be replaced for pleasure reading. The coolest thing that I fond about e readers is that you can highlight passages and then all of your highlighted passages go to one area- collected together and cited by page reference. Now I think an e reader is valuable for that reason alone- take notes easily and effortlessly when I'm reading to learn something. I would break it in a minute if I had it near me while cooking It would end up ruined in no time. Don't let me cook with your kindle around

  2. Yah I agree. And I like I said I still love the feel of a book. But so far its been good for somethings. Especially stuff that isn't available in print anymore.
